We Also Support: HealthRoots Foundation for Global Public Health
SpectrumCare is proud to support the HealthRoots Foundation for Global Public Health. The organization is committed to Global Public Health, Pain Management, and treating the under-served. Dr. Grigsby and his wife, Dr. Mary Rocca, established the HealthRoots Foundation in 1996. During the height of the HIV/AIDS epidemic, HealthRoots supported the establishment of the Palliative Care Association of Malawi, Africa, which provides education, funding, and advocacy in one of the most medically underserved countries in the world. Thousands of patients have received palliative medications and home care during their end-of-life as a result of the organization’s efforts. Today, HealthRoots has partnered with the University of California at San Francisco School of Public Health to establish the “Global Health Innovation Challenge.” The challenge is aimed at stimulating and supporting innovation in healthcare and its delivery for the developing world. The first competition was held in April 2016.
